Come to The Valley, the Heart of Anguilla in the British West Indies
The Valley is the capital of Anguilla and its one and only town. It is on a main road, right at the center of the island. In 2001, there were somewhat over eleven hundred people living in the Valley. The Valley has many renovated West Indian-style cottages, some turned into stores.
The “lower valley” is considered the historic section. A wooden home, Miss Majorie Hodge’s Homestead is in the historic district as well as The Warden’s Place, the former home of British spies. At the western edge of The Valley is Wallblake House, a former plantation house and the uniquely designed St. Gerard’s Catholic Church. For the location of The Valley in Anguilla, see this map guide.
