Florida Citrus, Where Has it Gone?

Florida Citrus market and orange groves give way to development.
Is it still possible to get a glass of fresh orange juice from oranges straight off the Florida trees?

In the Orlando area, the answer is certainly "yes." Here are the citrus figures in the 4-county metro Orlando area from the August 18th edition of The Orlando Sentinel. 

Rankings are based on 30 Florida counties. Osceola County: 13,804 acres of citrus, ranked 14th; 1,594,000 trees, ranked 15th. Lake County: 17,486 acres of citrus, ranked 13th; 2,415,000 trees, ranked 12th. Orange County: 5,594 acres of citrus, ranked 20th; 666,400 trees, ranked 20th. and, the big winner, Polk County, 95,050 acres, ranked #1; and 11,147,100 trees, 2nd in rank.
